Since 1984, Wee Watch has proved to be an exceptional, trusted, licensed child care organization.
Welcome to Wee Watch – Port Perry! Wee Watch has been providing licensed home childcare to families in the area since 1984.
My name is Kim Connell, and I am the Area Supervisor of the Oshawa East/Bowmanville/Clarington/Port Perry Wee Watch. I have had the privilege of working with many families, children, and childcare Providers for the past 20 plus years. I have also had the pleasure of watching some of our young Wee Watch children, grow and flourish into young adults that return to our program as parents themselves, or even Providers. How exciting is that!
We recognize placing your child with a licensedProvider is a partnership. We offer an open door policy. We want you to feel comfortable going to work or school, knowing that your child is safe, engaged in learningand has a real sense of belongingin their childcare environment. We know that your peace of mindmeans everything when you are entrusting your child to us.
Wee Watch Providers are committed to their professional learning. Providers attend ongoing workshops on safety, nutrition, development, programming and first aid/CPR to name a few. Providers welcome their Home Visitor (an RECE) every month, for observations of their program, support and safety checks, along with visits from the Ministry of Education, and Durham Region quality assurance. It is important to the Wee Watch team that we are meeting and exceeding the Ministry licensed requirements.
The Home Visitor will leave a home visit reportfor you after every visit to the Provider’s home and your child will receive learning materialsduring every visit. We will provide equipmentfor your child to use in the Provider’s home. All homespost the daily activities and menusfor you to review. If your Provider is on vacation, we will offer you a back upProvider. Our Wee Watch children engage in community learning at local libraries, early years centers, and special Wee Watch events. Our Together Wee Can programallows your child to learn about the world around them and allows them to participate in fun activities on a monthly basis. Events include things such as trips to senior centers, learning about different cultures, read-a-thons, Walking for a Cure for Terry Fox, Wee Watch Olympics, and more.
If you are considering a licensedhome environment for your child, please feel welcome to contact our office. It is our goal to make the transition to a licensedhome environmenta smooth one for your family.

What parents say about Wee Watch…
“We LOVE our Provider Jen P.! She has been watching our oldest for 2 years since she was one and is now watching our youngest that is one. She is so patient, kind, and caring. It was a hard transition going back to work and knowing she was caring for our girls gave us peace. We couldn’t imagine anyone else! She feels like family! We love you Jen!” ~Stacey C
“My kids love our Provider, and look forward to going to her house every day. We count ourselves lucky to have someone so loving and caring to watch our children. Honestly, not sure what we would do without her.” ~ Kerri C
“Roha has enjoyed her time in daycare and made new friends as well. Myself and my wife are incredibly impressed with the services of Jahanara and Wee Watch.” ~Ali Q
“I had my daughter Millie in the Oshawa East Wee Watch for a little over a year and my husband and I loved it, but most importantly Millie loved it. Joyce and Kim were great to work with and they did all the work in finding a Provider for us. There was no pressure to go with a Provider we did not like, although we liked the first Provider we met with. Afshan was wonderful and Millie loved her, so much so that she would be excited to go to Afshan’s house. During her time there she learned so much; the alphabet, counting, shapes, colours and sign language. Thank you Afshan.” ~Jennifer V
“Zayne (our son) has been in the care of Afshan since mid July. We are extremely satisfied with Wee Watch, and especially Afshan. She pays a lot of attention to Zayne, and we know she provides him with the best care possible. At first Zayne would always cry when we dropped him off, which is probably normal for any 1 year old. However as the weeks and months now have gone by, we can definitely see that Zayne looks forward to going to Afshans house every day. She gives us all the information about his day when either my wife or I go to pick him up in the evening. We can definitely see that Afshan adores our son and it’s almost like she treats him as her own, which is important to know when someone else is taking care of your child. We would definitely recommend Afshan as a care Provider for children as well as Wee Watch to assist in finding possible daycare for your child.” ~Anik
“I strongly believe in and respect the work you and rest of the Wee Watch team do for our children. It’s important to showcase everyone’s hard work. In regard to our Provider, I can’t express enough how deeply we love and respect Sonia G. She has been the daycare Provider for our 2 daughters Hailey and Charlotte for about 2.5 years now. She is very caring and the girls enjoy their outings to the park, library, and local shops and in the summertime to the splash pad. Sonia provides a safe and nurturing environment for our girls where they feel confident expressing themselves and their individual personalities. Sonia is also very accommodating with both mine and my husbands work schedules especially since we do shift work. Her dedication to her work and our family is irreplaceable. We don’t just look at Sonia as our daycare Provider; she is family! ~Heather B
